You are here to love, and to be loved.

The past few months have been so beautiful, but also filled with so much confusion and darkness. Today I am reminded that in every season of our life there is a lesson to be learned.

I've felt so lost and unsure, making decisions that seem "out of character" of the character I had set for myself at some point.

Taking acting classes in LA has taught me a lot about "characters" and how in all truth, we are always acting. We always have this description of the role we are to play and how we relate to the surrounding world. And we act according to the character we believe ourself to be.

But the difference between real life and movies is that we are not a single story, we are not one character, but in each character we see portrayed in stories we see an aspect of ourself reflected back to us.

All light and all darkness that we perceive in the world around us, also lives within us. There is a piece of each of us that is a saint, an angel, an explorer and a servant, and another that is an adict, a thief or a liar.

I've come to find pieces of the people I dislike the most in the world, are also in myself. 

But it has taught me more about love than I have ever known before. As I come to see the humanness in all of us, I grow in compassion for others, and especially in compassion for myself. 

Because the truth is, whatever darkness you may contain, it does not define you.

You are not defined by your body, your money, your friends, your vices or addictions, your selflessness or your selfishness, your sainthood or your sins. 

Your worth is eternal. Your beauty is eternal. The love you are capable of giving and receiving is eternal. 

Almost everything on this earth will one day turn to dust, the only thing that we can truly leave a legacy of is love. 

And that begins within, by first recognizing that no matter who you are or where you've come from, what you have or don't, what you've done or have not done,

You are a beautiful spirit child, walking upon an earth inside a body that was created for you to grow and learn and most of all to love and be loved.

And you already are. 

With this knowledge, the question we must ask is how will we move forward offering the world our divine and inherent light?
